Cookie Policy

Last updated: June 10, 2026

1. Introduction

This Cookie Policy explains how MinecraftServer.Buzz ("we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit minecraftserver.buzz. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

Under the EU ePrivacy Directive and UK PECR, we must obtain your consent before placing non-essential cookies or similar identifiers on your device. Essential cookies are used without consent because they are strictly necessary to provide the service you request.

2. Data controller

The data controller for cookies and related personal data on this website is MinecraftServer.Buzz. For privacy requests, contact us via our contact page.

3. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We also use comparable technologies such as local storage and session storage in your browser. In this policy, "cookies" refers to cookies and these similar technologies unless stated otherwise.

4. Categories we use

5. Cookies and storage we set

Strictly necessary

  • Supabase authentication cookies (names vary, e.g. sb-*-auth-token) — keep you signed in when you use an account. Provider: Supabase. Duration: session or as configured by Supabase (typically up to 7 days while active).
  • msb-cookie-consent (local storage) — stores your cookie preferences so we do not ask again on every visit. Duration: until you clear it or we publish a new policy version requiring re-consent.
  • theme (local storage) — remembers light/dark/system appearance so the site renders correctly without a flash of the wrong theme.

Functional (only if you allow)

  • minecraft_server_chest (local storage) — stores servers you save to your chest (up to 8 entries: id, name, IP, and display fields). Duration: until you remove items, clear site data, or withdraw functional consent.

Analytics (only if you allow)

  • Google Analytics — cookies such as _ga, _ga_* — help us understand site usage (pages visited, device/browser, approximate location). Provider: Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC. Measurement ID: G-CTV5KLBZMC. Typical retention: up to 14 months (Google settings). We load Google Analytics only after you consent.
  • First-party listing analytics — we send anonymous events (listing impressions, listing clicks, IP copy actions) to our infrastructure (Supabase) to show server owners aggregate statistics. No account is required for visitors. Events are tied to server IDs, not names or emails. Loaded only after analytics consent.
  • msb-analytics-pending-click (session storage, analytics only) — short-lived helper to attribute a server-page visit to a listing click. Cleared within 30 seconds or when the tab closes.

6. Third-party processors

7. How to manage your choices

You can accept, reject, or customise non-essential cookies at any time:

  • Use the cookie banner when you first visit the site.
  • Open from the footer on any page.
  • Clear cookies and site data in your browser settings (this also signs you out).

Withdrawing analytics consent stops new Google Analytics and first-party listing events. Withdrawing functional consent removes saved chest data from your browser. Strictly necessary cookies remain required for core features such as signing in.

8. Your rights

Depending on your location (including the EEA, UK, and Switzerland), you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to processing of personal data obtained via cookies, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. See our Privacy Policy for details and how to contact us.

9. Changes

We may update this Cookie Policy when we add features, change providers, or when law requires it. The "Last updated" date at the top will change. If changes are material, we may show the consent banner again.
